With its small working harbour and sandy beach Coverack is a very pretty fishing village on the east side of the Lizard Peninsula in South West Cornwall. The beach is perfect for rock pooling, playing games and relaxing on the sand as it eventually meets the turquoise waters. A very popular fishing spot is from the harbour, as is harbour jumping where everyone gathers and watches children and adults jumping in at high tide. A great pastime with a drink from either of the two establishments by the harbour.
It is also popular with divers due to the scattering of shipwrecks around the Manacles which is visible from the bay and extends about one nautical mile out to see.
The village is home to The Bay Hotel which provides food and drink for non residents as well. The Friday cocktails from 5-8pm are not to be missed and even better sat on the lawns looking out to sea. The Paris pub overlooks the harbour and also The Lifeboat House which serves as a fish and chip take away - great to have on the harbour.
There are a couple of small shops in season selling everything from games to art work to place mats and candles to swimming shoes!
We are proud to be shareholders of the village shop which was opened in 2025 and is run by the community. There is a lot of choice of every day essentials as well as serving fresh local produce.
There is a lovely cafe right on the seafront called Brenda’s which is very reasonable and serves the best crab around!
